About Me
I am Rachael Ashley living in Independence, WI with my boyfriend of 19 years, our two dogs and a cat. It was a journey to get here that started after graduation. I became a live sound engineer working with Intellasound out of Madison, WI. We worked with many local bands and some national. I decided that I wouldn't be able to do that type of work as I got older due to the heavy lifting and extreme hours so I went back to school to earn an accounting degree. That is when my interest in software and technology started. I worked as a General Accountant at Ashley Furniture Industries but was quickly promoted to a Financial Analyst. I stayed in variations of that role for 10 years until I left to work for Dynamic Lifecycle Innovations which is an incredible company to work for.
Currently I am still employed at Dynamic Lifecycle Innovations as a Business Analyst. I work with data that helps with the budgeting process, analyzing financial performance and operations. Most of the work is done using Excel spreadsheets but the company is trying to move forward to house data in a database management system. Seeing that most companies are moving in this direction, I decided to go back to school to learn IT and Web Development at Western Technical College. By doing this, I can help to automate the data the company already uses to inform the executive decision makers. I won't need to rely on a developer and can become more efficient in my current position since I will understand not only how to write code and query data, but present it also. It is very exciting to be able to advance and continue my learning using this acquired knowledge!
